We have a vacancy for a full-time Trades Estimator/Surveyor to join our well-established Property Maintenance company, based in Aberdeen.
This role would be ideally suited to a highly skilled and experienced tradesman (preferably joinery background) who has extensive knowledge in his field and who has run his own business that is looking at career progression in an office-based position.
As a Trades Estimator / Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in our property maintenance projects in Aberdeenshire. You will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, preparing quotes for small/large scale projects, and collaborating with our team to ensure successful project execution. Your expertise in trades and estimation will contribute to the overall efficiency and profitability of our operations.
We would consider a time served tradesperson that is looking at career progression in an office-based position.
Competitive salary, negotiable dependent on experience.
Key responsibilities to include:
- Reviewing drawings and specifications
- Collaborating with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing information for quoting clients
- Producing Bills of Quantities/Schedule of Works
- Evaluating received quotes, determining best value
- The ability to interpret the information received and communicate with clients and colleagues is essential.
Key skills & attributes required:
- Ideally with a background within construction, estimating / tradesperson
- Sound knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques
- Must have excellent interpersonal and rapport building skills, with the ability to work within a small office team
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Site experience advantageous.
Flexible holidays and additional days given per length of service, capped at 38 days per year.
